| Bed Spread quilted with Cloud Pattern |

|
| using 8oz batting |
We can take your fabric and turn it into a masterpiece. We can quilt
a pattern into it or *follow the pattern already printed on the fabric.
First you will need your measurements.
Measure the top of your bed, across and down. Draw a rectangle on your piece of paper and write these numbers on it
and draw arrows to show which direction each number represents. Then measure how far down you want your spread/comforter
to hang. Get this by measuring from the edge of the mattress down. For instance, spreads usually land just above
the floor, and comforters usually land just below the bottom of the mattress and over the top edge of the box spring.
Now, take that number and add it to three sides of your rectangle. This is called the drop. Next, a spread requires
a pillow tuck, which is usually 27". Add that to the top of your measurements. Next, add all the numbers
going across the bed, the first drop, the width of the bed and the drop on the other side. This is the finished size
width. Add the pillow tuck, the length of the bed and the last drop and the bottom, this is the finished size length. Many things will determine how much fabric you will need. The first consideration is the width of the fabric. most
upholstry fabric is 54"-60" wide. The second consideration is the repeat of the pattern printed on the fabric.
Some are a far apart as 24". Because the fabric won't be wide enough, it will have to be pieced and the patterns
will have to match up perfectly. (possibly twice) The third consideration will be the pattern we are quilting
into it, weather it is tight or more spread out and the number of layers of batting being put into the project. The
last consideration is the hemming of the project. We usually require 2" for hemming. Most of the time, adding
10" all the way around is suffecient. (depending of course on the repeat of the pattern) Add another 2 yards
per pillow sham to finish a comforter.
